The Blendtec HP3A
The HP3A is the small Blendtec blender. It has a 12.5 amp motor and has 1500 watts. It’s not as bulky as the Waring and Vita Mix because it doesn’t have to be. To justify the cost of these second generation blenders, manufacturers wanted to make their machines look big and expensive.
The HP3A designers didn’t have to prove anything. They went to the drawing board and designed a blender that is compact (fits under most kitchen cabinets), powerful, easy to use, computer driven, and has a revolutionary new container / blade design that creates an amazing vortex inside unlike the gentle whirlpool of the other players in the game.
I won’t mention any names, but the one that starts with V may be Vita Mix, and the one that starts with W may to Waring. I’m just sayin!
It comes with 25 preprogrammed blend cycles - custom designed for different applications. You can scroll through the cycles and find the ones that meet your blending needs and then program your 4 custom buttons on the left side of the blender with your favorite cycles. From there it is one step blending. You put your food in the blender, put the easy on/off top on, push a button, walk away, and the blender will shut off by itself at the end of the cycle. My favorite cycle is the XL Smoothie cycle. For 15 seconds it goes slow to break up the food and then it kicks into high speed for 25 seconds for a total of 40 seconds. What this blender does in 40 seconds, the other ones can’t do in twice that amount of time and of course the shorter the cycle the better for oxidation and heat buildup.
It also has a pulse button if you want to just pulse something on high for a bit and it also has - 10 speed up and down buttons. It’s the most versatile blender on the market – Almost! The HP3A’s big brother, who has the same control panel and buttons, has a 20 amp motor and is 2400 watts. That one, the ICB7, is in a class all by itself. There is nothing on the market that even comes close.
Back to this blender though – The square container breaks up the flow of your smoothie so that it gets churned up more efficiently than the round containers and the 3” blade with ½” upright wing tips pulverizes everything and anything that gets in its way.
The price of the HP3A is less then either the Vita Mix or Waring and it has a 10,000 cycle guarantee if you can use it that many times in 3 years.
We’ve done side by side testing with different ingredients and this blender has out performed the other players. If your goal is too make the healthiest possible smoothies whether it be fruit or vegetable, this blender should be considered unless you want the grand daddy of all blenders - the 20 amper. This blender has some limitations and its motor can be overloaded with a thick nut butter but with care it will last for years and years and years.

Blending superfood smoothies in a super blender is a critical part of the EcoAerobic Lifestyle. The HP3A, while not as powerful as the ICB7, qualifies as an entry level EcoAerobic SuperFood Smoothie maker
