Chia seed is a Master food we use as a daily staple ingredient for the Ecoaerobic smoothies. Chia seed is the richest source of omega 3 fatty acid at 60 %. Chia seed is typically not grown with the use of herbicides or pesticides. Chia seed is a complete source of protein usually ranging at 19 to 23 percent of the seeds overall weight. Chia seeds have the amazing ability to absorb more than nine times its volume in water. This absorbent reaction Chia has with water gives it the ability to prolong hydration which helps retain electrolytes in the bodies fluids. This makes it an excellent food product for people who do extended exercise or endurance training.
Chia seed is a food containing no gluten yet it is has a tendency to act in a gluten like manner when water is added to it becoming very thick and gummy.
